Everyday chat: start with the ordinary conversation

The public interface separates Explore, Chat, Create, Generate and My AI. You can browse existing characters or use the creation tools. For a daily companion, choosing a character whose premise you actually like is a better starting point than choosing the most eye-catching portrait.

We would begin with a modest request: a brief conversation about your day, a question about a hobby, or a small fictional scene. Ask for short replies and one follow-up question at a time. That gives you a useful way to judge pacing without turning every exchange into a long story.

The important billing distinction is in the official Dreamcoin guide. Standard subscriber chats cost zero coins, while Genius and Lively Genius cost one Dreamcoin per response. Free-user messages also cost one coin each. A subscription therefore does not make every conversation mode free of usage charges.

We have not compared those models for accuracy, response speed or personality. Paying for a mode with a more impressive name is not evidence that it will be a better daily companion for you.

Memory: what to check before you get attached

A companion needs to do more than repeat your name in the next message. It should carry useful context into a later conversation without confusing details or inventing a shared history. We have not run that continuity test on OurDream, so this review does not assign its memory a score.

You can make the check practical and keep it private. Give the character a few fictional facts: a preferred nickname, a hobby and a plan for the weekend. Return in a later session and ask about the plan without repeating it first. Notice whether the answer recalls the detail, asks for clarification or confidently makes something up.

Then correct one fact and see whether the correction sticks. If you need to keep supplying the same recap, decide whether that amount of maintenance is acceptable. This is a suggested evaluation, not a claim that OurDream passed or failed it.

For companionship, that answer matters more than the size of a character library. An agreeable reply can feel personal without demonstrating reliable memory. Our review criteria explain why conversation and memory deserve separate attention.

Voice calls can change the budget quickly

OurDream documents voice calls, chat narration, image generation and video generation. The useful question for a daily routine is which of those you would use often enough to buy more credits.

A 1,000-coin allowance covers 20 minutes of voice calls if you spend it on nothing else. In a mixed example, a five-minute call and 20 standard images use 350 coins, leaving 650. Those are calculations from the published rates, not measured sessions, and they exclude other paid actions.

Chat narration is a separate feature: the guide lists free narration with select voices and five coins per paragraph with premium voices. Do not confuse that with a free live call.

For someone who mainly types and occasionally asks for a picture, the distinction is manageable. Someone expecting long calls every evening should calculate the extra spend before subscribing. We have not tested voice naturalness or image consistency.

OurDream pricing: monthly payment versus annual commitment

The official standard-plan comparison lists these USD prices. Check your own checkout for the final offer and any applicable tax.

The annual price is not a $9.99 monthly payment. It commits the full amount before you know whether the experience suits you. We would treat the initial bonus as extra usage, not a reason to buy a year of a product you have not tried.

The free tier is also narrower than the word “free” suggests. The help center says image and video generation need a subscription. We could not establish a dependable signup coin allowance, so we do not promise a fixed number of free conversations or free daily credits.

Privacy: encrypted does not mean invisible to the provider

OurDream's privacy policy, dated August 26, 2026, says data is encrypted at rest and in transit. That is different from proving end-to-end encryption that prevents the service from accessing your conversations.

The same policy includes chat communications among collected user content, describes service-provider access, and lists training AI models among its purposes. We would not treat a companion conversation as a confidential diary or put identifying details about other people into it.

Use fictional names when you can, keep financial or medical information out of prompts, and review account settings before building a long history. Cancellation and deletion are different decisions

The cancellation instructions say to use your profile's cancellation control. Paid access continues until the current billing period ends; cancellation does not automatically refund the payment.

There is an unresolved detail worth checking with support: the subscription-expiry article says coins do not expire, but the cancellation article says previously unused coins are not restored when you reactivate. We would not buy extra coins on the assumption that they will remain usable after a break.

The expiry article also says images, videos and community packs become blurred without an active subscription. Keeping your account does not guarantee continued access to everything you created.

Account deletion is permanent and is described as taking 24–48 hours. The help article says it removes chat history, generations, unpublished characters and unused coins, and cancels an active subscription. That is an account-management statement, not an independently verified promise of immediate erasure from every backup.
